This hands-on class is for you if you are proficient in Microsoft Excel but
would like to learn
how to make your workflow quicker and
easier. Learn the tips and tricks associated with this
program; learn how to discover problems,
and how to solve them.

B. Telephone and Email Etiquette *
This program will reinforce the preferred means of working with customers and
co-workers via
telephone. We will also discuss etiquette
and recommended techniques for effective emails

C. OUCH! That Stereotype Hurts! Part 2
Due to popular demand, a continuation of last year’s “OUCH!” will be presented.
In a unique
and powerful way, viewers will experience
the impact of stereotypical comments, explore why
people don't speak up against stereotypes
and other biased behaviors, and learn six techniques
for speaking up without blame or guilt.

G. The Story Behind the Book: Children’s Author and Illustrator Panel
Take a peek into the creative brains of three children’s book creators. Panel
members will
answer questions about inspiration, the
writing and publishing process, and more. Karen
Rostoker-Gruber is the award-winning author
of Rooster Can’t Cock-A-Doodle-Do, Bandit, and
Bandit’s Surprise. Wendy Pfeffer is the award-winning
author of over forty non-fiction books
for children. Lena Shiffman is
an accomplished artist who has illustrated many children’s book.
Books will also be available for sale.

The notion of “gangs” conjures up images of violence, initiation, and hostility.
What is fact and
what is fiction? This presentation will
outline general signs of gang affiliation, a brief history of
gangs, gangs in schools and popular culture,
gang graffiti, paraphernalia, and language. Advice for avoiding gangs will also be given.

etiquette, an overview of both basic print

This presentation is designed to introduce you to the genealogical resources

novice genealogist, and suggestions to
keep in mind as you begin a genealogy project.

S. “Dreams Deferred: The Sakia Gunn Story” Film Screening and Discussion
refusing the advances of a man in her neighborhood.
This film, made by a NY filmmaker Chas
Bennett Brack, traces the story of this young lesbian. Discussion will
follow the film.

T. From a Thought to a Thing
This presentation offers advice on converting the “idea” of a book into the
real thing.

formatted properly in order to end up with

themed novels in the children’s science
fiction, fantasy, and time travel genre will be available for sale.
