A. "Focused Thinking"
Focused Thinking helps individuals obtain the mental edge necessary to increase their ability to remain focused, keep control in challenging environments, and direct their thinking towards achieving their goals.

B. “Resolving Conflict”
This seminar deals with the ways managers and employees resolve, or fail to resolve, conflict in the workplace. Topics include reasons for conflict, refereeing in conflict, conflict intervention and prevention and analyzing conflict management styles.

C. “The Diversity Exchange: A Knowledge Database to Further Diversity & Inclusion in the Library”
This workshop will consist of a discussion and demonstration of a new diversity knowledge database. The online database has 3 main features: browse, search and add programs. Staff can browse for successful programs and learn how to implement them into their communities.

D. “Status Discrimination: How to Deal with Librarians Negative Attitude Towards Staff”
This program will examine an all too common experience in the work place, the tendency of
librarians to discriminate against staff. The roots of the problem will be discussed. Strategies
for combating “class status discrimination”.

E. “Ready Reference for Para Professionals”- Limit 20 people
This workshop will be a combination of discussion and hands on practice. Participants will learn
about what ready reference is, how to conduct a reference interview ( critical to providing service at
any level), and how to manage one’s online workspace effectively and efficiently.

Read any good books lately? This program is a book discussion with a twist- rather than focus on a single title, participants talk about books they’ve recently read and enjoyed. In addition to the joy of talking about books there will be lots of ideas for starting book cafes in your branch including facilitation, display, publicity, and literacy gaming.

R. “Kids & Crafts: Program Planning for the Crafty & the Craft Challenged” (limit 25 people)
An introduction to library craft programming for children. Participants will learn the basics involved in planning, implementing and evaluating a pre-school story and craft program. You will also get some tips and ideas for a successful craft event for school age children. We will explore some useful resources and even put together a few simple craft projects!
