Get Involved in the NJALA!
We're always looking for enthusiastic, hard-working members with fresh ideas
for our Annual Conference -- Don't have quite so much time? Consider joining
one of the committees listed below. It's a great way to get to know our
organization and its members.
COMMITTEES:
Archives: Headed by the NJALA Historian, this committee selects and maintains any material
pertinent to the archives.
Conference Planning:
Headed by the Conference Chair and 2 Co-Chairs, members participate in
all phases of planning and running the Annual Conference.
Finance and Budget:
Members of this committee manage funds, recommend investments, prepare
the annual budget, and project future expenditures.
Honors, Awards and Resolutions:
This committee considers, recommends, and drafts all NJALA Honors, Awards,
and Resolutions.
Membership:
Committee members prepare promotional materials, membership forms, and
packets for new members.
Newsletter -NJALA Quarterly Review
This panel develops editorial policy, secures services of an editorial
staff, and provides a vehicle for communication between the membership,
Executive
Council, and the editorial staff.
Nominations / Elections:
These people collect biographical information on nominees, prepare mail
ballots, collect and count the ballots, and notify our members of the
results.
Past Presidents:
This group serves as advisors to the Executive Council and undertakes such
activities as they may deem necessary for the good of the Association.
Public Relations:
Committee members publicize activities of the Association and promote
a positive public image of it's members and also work cooperatively
with other local, state,
and
national library associations.
Scholarships:
This committee provides eligibility rules, determines selection criteria,
reviews credentials, and notifies winners and Association membership
of the results of NJALA
scholarship
decisions.
Ways and Means:
This committee identifies and conducts fundraising projects, investigates
and recommends new sources of revenue, and reports to the President the
financial
progress
of the committee.
